ARE YOU NEW TO ST JOHN’S? - HELPFUL HINTS

If you are new to St John’s, we are delighted to see you! Please do fill in a Welcome card (in the pews or at the back of church), which will help us to get to know you. Please place in the collection bowl or give to a sides person or warden.

If you would like to make use of the crèche and don’t know where it is, please just ask one of the sides people. The service is broadcast in the crèche room. Someone will come and get you from church if your child needs you.

Out of this world: Bible teaching and activities for those aged 3-11 in the Hall during the 10am service. Made up of Stars (Pre-school to School Year 1), Meteors (Years 2-4) and Comets (Years 5 and 6). The Rock: Interactive Bible study for those aged 11-14 (Years 7-11). This group meets most weeks during the 10am service. Please ask for more details!

Jaffa Plus (School Years 7-9) meets once a month on a Thursday evening, 7.00-8.30pm. Full of fun, games, activities, hot chocolate, cakes and learning about God from Luke’s Gospel. All young people are very welcome to come to the above groups, whether it be on a regular basis or just occasionally.

Hymns/songs are projected onto the screen at the front of church. If you would prefer to use a book, there are red hymnbooks (red numbers) in the pews and blue/green books (black numbers) at the back.

A collection bowl is at the back of church for any gifts you may wish to make. Gift Aid envelopes are available for tax effective giving.

If there are people to contact on the notice sheet who you do not know, please ask a sides person or warden (they have badges on), who will be pleased to help.

Car Parking

Car parking can be found behind the church, just off the Glebe. The Church hall is beside the car park. We have some disabled bays next to the hall. At busy times extra car parking in the Glebe or at the Travelodge opposite.

Disabled Access

The best location for disabled parking avoiding the car park steps is on the Glebe, a small road next to the church. Enter by the North Door, which faces the Glebe. We have a short ramp available for the small step at the north door this should be deployed prior to services by the Warden on duty please ask if it is not there.  We put no parking bollards next to the gate to make it easier for you to access the path through the gate from the road.

For access to the Hall enter the site at this north gate and follow the paved path to the Hall double doors. We now also have a portable aluminum wheelchair ramp to improve access to the church hall. It is kept the hall vestibule cupboard, do ask if you need it.

Map

We can be found on the A22, north of East Grinstead. You can see our location on the interactive map below, the blue line represents the parish boundary. You can also find us on Multimap
