MANY OF YOU have been praying hard that we would find the person of God's choice to come and work here with us at St John's. We held interviews in December, and I am delighted to welcome Michael Peach to St John's Michael feels that God is calling him to come and work here.
He has completed a three-year course of study at Oak Hill Theological College - some may remember the team of students we welcomed to the parish for our On the Move mission. Mike Ovey who led the team is now the principal, and he was able to put us in touch with Michael and other students at the college. The college basically exists to train people for the ministry of the Church of England, though there are others like Michael who attend the college and follow the same courses without having applied for ordination.
He came to visit with his wife Lizzy and their two little boys on January 4th, and more of you may have had the chance to meet them then.
They have taken a great step of faith in committing themselves to come here: I trust that we will now rise to challenge of giving them a good welcome!
