Churchill’s famous speech “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few” was delivered on this day in 1940 (as a tribute to the sacrifices of the RAF in the Battle of Britain). As Christians Jesus tells us of the few who are going to carry out the harvest (of those ultimately called to Him). Lord Jesus we pray for strength and resolve for all of us to be an active part of the harvesting process as you commanded us. Open minded and receptive spirits we ask for to at least hear your message amid the clamour and cacophony that surrounds us daily in all its various forms.
