In 45BC the decree of Emperor Caesar Augustus brought the Julian Calendar into being . Yet Lord time is your creation not Caesar’s. All of creation comes from you as you were before time, in this moment and beyond time and we praise you for that as another year begins. If it be your will Lord let there be more humanity shown in this country and in the world than has been the case for many a year. Fresh starts may be short lived or simply illusory but let some at least begin afresh.
