Lord as we continue through the twelve days of Christmas let us give thanks for all who have been working in emergency services and vital industries and not been able to embrace the holiday season. Let us not forget that on this day in 1170 Archbishop Thomas à Becket was murdered in Canterbury Cathedral for speaking truth to power (King Henry II). Father God we pray for those Saints who have been bold and resolute to speak THE truth of your Word whatever the personal cost. May we seek from you Lord the same strength of purpose to remain unflinchingly loyal to the Word.
