Let us remember the numerous unhappy times in church history, that still continue in places today, when harmony among professing Christians was / is missing. On this day in 1570 Pope Pius V excommunicated Queen Elizabeth I (essentially) because of her Protestant faith. Lord we regret how often such events have set Christians against each other allowing the Devil to create havoc and disharmony among the children of God. Let there, if it be your will, come peace and openness between all people and genuine discourse on matters of faith so that each person is enabled to make an informed decision to accept or reject Jesus.\nLord we pray for the Women on Wednesday Group meeting (9.30 am) this morning and Watercolours on Wednesday (2pm).
