Lord amid the conflicts and political/ economic turmoil in the world we know that such isn’t a revelation, surprise or news to you. On this day in 1620 The Mayflower set sail from Plymouth to the “New World” with 102 Pilgrims aboard. They were fleeing religious oppression in this country and hoping for freedom to worship elsewhere. Such events litter history. We take succour from your presence over us that ultimately your will can but prevail. Let us glean strength in darker moments from such knowledge but not take you, Lord ,for granted when all around us appears to be comfortable and the personification of contentment.
