In Sudan just 4.3% of the population of 2.2 million are Christians, and forced conversion and physical punishment threaten the lives of Christians across the country. Historical churches have been closed and often burnt, as have the homes of their leaders. Sexual violence is becoming a growing weapon against Christian women and girls; some are abducted and forced into sexual slavery. Men, especially church leaders, are subjected to beatings and imprisonment. Lord, have mercy.
