For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
1 Peter 1:18-20

Sad News About the Marylebone Project

The Marylebone project will be closing at the end of September this year. We have supported the project for many years through our World Mission Gift Day. Unfortunately, the project has built up a loss of £2 million over the past 4 years and sadly the Church Army can no longer afford to support it. Attempts for Westminster Council to take it over have failed because of the level of investment needed to upgrade the buildings.

Every effort is now being made to resettle the 93 women currently being supported by the project. We give thanks that for almost a century, women have found safety there and a chance to rebuild their lives. We give thanks for the hundreds of women who have been helped and the staff who have worked tirelessly to support them.

We have been asked to pray that the remaining 93 women will find a safe and stable place to move on to and for wisdom and compassion for the staff as they walk alongside the women during this transition.

Used Ink Cartridges
We have raised £112.45 for A Rocha since you began donating your used ink cartridges! There is a box in the office where you can donate your ink cartridges. Please ensure all packaging is removed from the cartridges before placing them in the box.

World Day of Prayer
Services will be held on Friday 6 March at Moat United Reformed Church in the morning at 10:30 am and in the evening at 7:30 pm. This year we are praying for Nigeria, and the services have been prepared by women in Nigeria, to give us an idea of the life and problems women face there. We do hope you will join us, and that those who have Nigerian traditional dress will wear it to the services so we can all enjoy the colour and ethnic style of this amazing country. Please do join us for this world-wide ecumenical event. We hope it will be very colourful, enjoyable and informative.

You are warmly invited to the Southern Women's Convention on Saturday June 13th at All Saints Church, Crowborough TN6 1ED. Come and enjoy a day of teaching, praise and prayer with our guest speakers; Andrea Trevenna, Rachel Wilson, Lizzie Laferton, Claudia Sear, Emily Lucas, Kez De Jong and Naomi Skull.
Tickets go on sale THIS SUNDAY. Click here to book your place. Cost: £13 adults or £10 teens/young adults.

PRAYER FOR THIS WEEKEND

Almighty God, whose blessed Son was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan: Come quickly to help us who are assaulted by many temptations; and, as you know the weaknesses of each of us, let each one find you mighty to save; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
