Children's Groups
Please note that children's groups are now on a break for the summer. There are clipboards at the back of church by the sofas with worksheets and a pencil case for each child to help them engage with the service. The creche will also remain open.
 
Evening Services this Summer
There will be a light church tea served from 5.30pm before the evening service this Sunday, 2nd August. However, there will be NO church tea before the evening Service on 9th August. If you feel you would like to be part of making the church tea happen every Sunday evening, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. On 16th August there will be NO evening service, but we would warmly encourage all who are able to attend the morning service.
 
Safeguarding Training Morning 2026
 
For all volunteers at St John’s Church who are members of the PCC, Churchwardens and Deputy Churchwardens,
leaders and helpers in Children and Young People’s groups including JAM, and members of the Pastoral Care Team.
Date - Saturday October 3rd 9.30am -12pm, St John’s Church
Topic – online safeguarding training.
Focus - Our focus this year is for volunteers to update their online safeguarding certificates during this training meeting.
Doing this together in our groups will stimulate valuable discussion about safeguarding issues pertinent to each group.
Please put this date in your diary.

Modern Slavery – Right here, Right now

Work exploitation is a reality in all our communities. Join East Grinstead Churches Together on Saturday 12 September, 10am-12noon, at St Swithun’s Church, to learn more about what Modern Slavery is, how to recognise the signs, and how to report it or raise concerns. This is an awareness raising event organised by Churches Together in East Grinstead.
