Welcome to The Rock! The Rock is our childrens' work here at St John's and it's for anyone in school years 6 and below.

The Rock exists so that we can help your kids to develop a strong foundation of trusting Jesus.

What's on?

The Rock

The Rock has three different groups which meet during the SundayTen service. Gems is our parent-led crèche for ages 0 - 3 where you can still enjoy the service while doing activities with your children - this meets in the crèche room next to the church office. Pebbles is for ages 3 - 7, and Boulders is for ages 7 - 11, both run by our kids' team in the church hall. At both, your kids will play games, sing songs, watch videos, do crafts, and read the Bible together. Drop-off is from 9:50 am at the hall, and we will bring your kids back into the church at the end of the service for you to collect them.

On the first Sunday of each month, Pebbles and Boulders join the rest of the church for an All Age Service. The crèche room is still open during All Age Services.

Kids Team

  • Tim: Associate Minister Youth and Children

Joined the St John's team in 2020. He loves seeing young people growing in their trust in and enjoyment of Jesus as they come to know God's Word more. Tim and Erin got married in 2020 during the pandemic madness, before moving to East Grinstead. Tim enjoys seeing family and friends, music, and reading.
  • Sarah Francis

I enjoy teaching at The Rock because I love sharing the Bible with the children that come along and listening to what they have to say. We always have lots of fun together.

When I have some free time I can be found watching a good box set!
  • Maria

I enjoy working with our children because I want them to learn about God. Jesus said that even the little children are welcome to come to Him and the Rock provides a fun environment where the children can get to know Jesus.

When she has some free time Maria can be found listening to music, planning the next family holiday or visiting London.
  • Tanya

I enjoy working with our children because they are incredibly special and wonderful. I think that the work we do with them is vital in sharing the truth about Jesus and his huge love for them.
When I have some free time, I can be found often out walking our dog!
