Welcome to The Rock! The Rock is our children's work here at St John's and it's for anyone aged 3-11.

The Rock exists so that we can help your kids to develop a strong foundation of trusting Jesus.

What's on?

The Rock

The Rock has three different groups which meet during the 10am service. Gems is our parent-led crèche for ages 0-2 where you can still enjoy the service on the livestream while doing activities with your children. This meets in the crèche room between the church and the hall. Pebbles is for ages 3-7, and Boulders is for ages 7-11. Both of these are run by our team of leaders in the church hall. Your children will have loads of fun playing games, singing songs, watching videos, doing crafts, and learning together with the other children from the stories of the Bible. Drop-off is from 9:50am in the hall, and we will bring your children back into church before the end of the service for you to collect them.

On the first Sunday of each month, Gems, Pebbles and Boulders join the rest of the church for a really fun time at All Age Service.

  • Tim: Associate Minister Youth and Children

Joined the St John's team in 2020. He loves seeing young people growing in their trust in and enjoyment of Jesus as they come to know God's Word more. Tim and Erin got married in 2020 during the pandemic madness, before moving to East Grinstead. Tim enjoys seeing family and friends, music, and reading.
  • Sarah Francis

I enjoy teaching at The Rock because I love sharing the Bible with the children that come along and listening to what they have to say. We always have lots of fun together.

When I have some free time I can be found watching a good box set!

I enjoy working with our children because they are incredibly special and wonderful. I think that the work we do with them is vital in sharing the truth about Jesus and his huge love for them.
When I have some free time, I can be found often out walking our dog!
