At St John’s we believe that small groups are a great place to grow as Christians by enjoying time together as church family in God's word.

Our Small Groups enable us to grow to become more like Jesus. They vary in style and size and meet together on a regular basis to study the Bible and pray together. The groups are made up of people of all ages and backgrounds, brought together by a desire to live following Jesus. There are many groups spread out across our area including Felbridge, East Grinstead, Crawley Down and Ashurstwood. Miriam Markham helps to coordinate our small groups and would love to help you find a group that suits you.

“I really value being part of my small group - it’s been so great getting to know each other & the Bible better as we’ve grown, connected together & helped each other to walk more faithfully with Christ. It’s a place of openness & complete trust, where I’ve found such genuine care, encouragement & support”. — Caroline K

Home Groups

Rob and Mary Hindmarch have opened a group meeting fortnightly at their house in central east Grinstead Tuesdays

Day: Tuesday Frequency: Fortnightly Time: 7:30-9:00 pm Location: Felbridge

Started: Too long ago now to remember!

Short bio: Currently, we are about ten older adults from various backgrounds who meet every other week for friendship and prayer support. We begin with coffee and a catch-up about what is going on in our lives and follow this with an informal discussion-based look at a Bible passage together, usually with the help of a simple study guide to keep us on track and to make sure we don’t avoid tackling the difficult bits! We don’t have all the answers, but we often surprise ourselves with fresh things we discover about God and his will for our lives.

Day Tuesday  Frequency Fortnightly  Time 2 pm-3.30ish  Location Crawley Down

Started September 2020

Short Bio:  We are a cheerful group of retired people who meet once a fortnight on a Tuesday afternoon to enjoy studying the Bible and pray together. Most of us live in Crawley Down, but we are happy to include anyone from elsewhere. We always begin with tea and cake and a time to catch up with what we have all been doing.
