The Church of England’s consultation on Living in Love and Faith has ended in what appears to be a victory for orthodoxy, but with some unhappy at the outcome. We thank God for the turnaround in this process, and we pray also for those who feel unhappy with it, that they would examine themselves in the light of God’s word. We pray also for those of us who have wanted this outcome, that God would grant us humility and compassion, and that Satan would not be able to divide the Church.    ::  Prayer

As the season of Lent commences, we pray that we would approach it in the right spirit, not of somehow gaining merit or of any abstention for the wrong reasons, but of meditating on God’s word and spending time with the Lord in prayer. We pray especially for the Lent course and any Lent devotionals being used, that these would be helpful and edifying to those taking part or reading them.    ::  Prayer

As the reverberations from the Epstein case rumble on, we pray against those things done in secret which are allowed to grow to become a cancer in society, and pray that God by his providence would grant people to fear him and not to assume impunity and immunity, however highly placed in society they may be. Grant us too not to have a spirit of pride, knowing that we are all subject to the same temptations.    ::  Prayer

In the current political climate we pray that the Lord would help us to discern what is biblical and what is not, and what is subject to debate and an agreement to differ. We pray too that the Lord would grant us to think in accordance with Romans 14 and to welcome others who may think differently from us on matters that are not primary Gospel issues.    ::  Prayer

We pray for the new Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullaly, that God would guide her and use her, and that God would send a worthy successor to Bishop Christopher to be the next Bishop of Southwark. We pray for God’s strength and wisdom for Bishop Rosemarie Mallett as she prepares to be the interim leader of the diocese.    ::  Prayer
