Tuesday 28 July 2026
We pray for teachers and students as they have well earned breaks from work and study. May they be able to recharge, rest and feel what has been done was worthwhile. We remember those waiting for exam results and wondering about their future possibilities of study or work. For families we pray as they spend more time together, go on holiday hopefully, and cope with changes in maturity and expectations.    ::  Prayer

With holidays in full swing we pray for CPAS camps, and the many other camps and missions run by Scripture Union and other christian organisations. For travel arrangements, safety during activities, good fellowship, biblical teaching, and that many come to know the Lord Jesus, we pray.    ::  Prayer

We pray for all the staff and helpers who do so much to keep St Johns 'running', often unnoticed as things happen so smoothly. We pray for refreshment and encouragement for all involved and cry out especially for a youth worker to join the pastoral team.    ::  Prayer

With so much change politically in the UK and instability in the wider world, we pray for our leaders, locally, nationally and internationally. Praying especially for a solution to problems in the Middle East and provision of a vaccine and containment of Ebola in Africa, remembering in particular the Asikus in Uganda as Gift recovers from a severe malarial illness and Kathryn has so many responsibilties.    ::  Prayer

After Wimbledon, World Cup football, the Open golf and ongoing cricket and rugby, we pray for christians in sport for their witness and fellowship, often necessarily performing on a Sunday, so missing regular teaching, support and encouragement. We pray too that with the increasing emphasis on bodily health and fitness that many will also seek spiritual wellbeing in our churches and may this be an opportunity for us to give a christian perspective on what really is important    ::  Prayer

Dear Lord, Your majestic name fills the earth! When I look at the sky and see the work of your fingers, who am I that you should care about me? And yet, you do! Help me Lord to care as much for your creation as you care about me. Amen\n9/08/2026: Dear Lord, You are a shelter for the oppressed and a refuge in times of trouble. You care for the helpless and do not ignore the cries of those who suffer. You do not abandon those who search for you. Help me to praise you with all my heart today and to draw near to those who are struggling. Amen    ::  Prayer
