Heavenly Father, as voting opens today for the Church of England’s General Synod, we pray that faithful, orthodox clergy and laity would be elected. We pray specifically for an orthodox majority in both the House of Clergy and the House of Laity, and for a General Synod led by your word that seeks your will in all its deliberations and decision-making. Please be with those at St John’s who have a vote. Please would they be discerning and wise in their voting.    ::  Prayer

Heavenly Father, we pray for Watercolour on Wednesday as they meet in the hall this afternoon. We thank you for Ros running it, and we pray for all the church family members who attend, that you would give them wisdom and provide opportunities in their relationships and discussions with those who do not yet know you, so the gospel is made clear.\n\nWe pray too for Roxi leading an assembly at Felbridge Primary School this morning. Please would you help her to make the gospel clear in an accessible way.    ::  Prayer

Heavenly Father, we pray for your provision of godly leaders for us at St John’s. Please would you guide St John’s in appointing someone to lead our youth ministry. Please would the diocese look favourably on our expression of interest for a new curate. And please, would you guide the ongoing process of appointing a new Bishop of Southwark. Please would you provide us with a godly bishop who will lead the diocese faithfully.    ::  Prayer
