Father God we open the new week by holding up to you those returning to schools and colleges after the half term break; whether as students or staff. In particular Lord we pray for those in the middle of the examination process , that they remain clear headed and calm so as to do of their best. Let us also remember this week’s focus wide on prayer including at St John’s between 0645-0730 am and 4-4.45pm today and the St John’s Online meeting from 8pm.    ::  Prayer

As we look at the world today let us remember God knows all that has occurred , why it happened and that which will happen in the future. We thank you Lord for the solace this knowledge, that you are fully aware of everything and in ultimate control, gives our often troubled souls. We seek your blessings upon our prayer meetings;0645-0730am, all age meeting in the hall 3.30-4.15pm and the PCC meeting 8-10pm. Lord let us pray for those affected by troubled hearts and minds as well as those suffering from physical ailments in hospital or at home ,as well as those caring for others.    ::  Prayer

The evacuation from Dunkirk in 800 vessels of 338,226 military personnel was concluded on this day in 1940. We give thanks for the bravery of all involved in that mission and acknowledge the threat from a truly evil enemy they faced then and for years thereafter while seeking to protect these shores and our way of life. Lord whatever the diplomatic/ political intricacies of the Israeli versus Hamas hostilities in Gaza let your blessings fall upon your chosen people at this time. If it be your will may peace ,in that almost constantly troubled land, be soon in the coming. Closer to home let the prayer meetings today be full, faithful and open events : 0645-0730am and 7.30-8.30 pm as well as Women on Wednesday (9.30-11am) and Watercolours on Wednesday (2-4pm).    ::  Prayer
